This is a vintage Western Electric hand crank telephone.
The set code stamped into the case is 317R.
The ringer inside the case shows a patent date of May 12, 1914.
The case is solid wood – approximately 7/16” thick.
The base case is 9 ½” wide, 20 ½” high and 6” deep (12” at writing-table).
The schematic and wiring instruction sheet is complete and attached inside the case.
It appears that 3 batteries are required but not included.
Problems that I can identify:
Mouthpiece-cover on receiver is missing.
Some wire-wrap on the cord from the receiver into the box is missing.
Although it is in excellent shape for its age, you would likely want to refinish it.
I have a number of additional pictures. If you are interested, please email me and I will forward them to you.
